Responsibilities

The role will be part of IDC China Service Provider practice group. The primary objective of the role will be to conduct research into and maintain coverage of the vibrant and fast developing market for telecom services in the China region. The analyst will be a prime contributor to the China Service Provider Strategies CIS program and deliver against an aggressive, high growth content agenda . Primary areas of focus will include coverage of China mobile operators, their service offerings to consumers, as well as new emerging business models for telecom service providers. The analyst would also be required to contribute to the China Telecom Services Database product. The successful analyst will also be required to do bespoke work as needed, including being tasked to write on a variety of topics that are driving our clients’ needs, to conduct primary and secondary research and to support the CIS clients.   

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5years of experience in the telecommunications service provider industry in China, with knowledge of both mobile environments although fixed broadband, cable will be a plus.
  • Preference would be given to candidates from analyst firms and consulting backgrounds. Relevant service provider or vendor backgrounds also applicable.
  • Speak English proficiently.
  • Lead & Provide leadership to Asean analyst & working peers.
  • The analyst will need to develop into an authority on the telecom service provider industry, observing and communicating trends, and competitive forces
  • Strong writing skills are essential. The analyst will be responsible for producing high quality and insightful research reports
  • Excellent communication skills essential – written and verbal. The analyst will be required to create and deliver presentations, to clients and at public events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience of having worked in a multi-cultural and distributed team environment will be a key advantage
  • Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen strong relationships with peers and external people such as customers
  • Excellent time management skills while at the same time able to effectively multi-task
  • Detail oriented, meticulous, perseverant, and passion for excellence
  • Highly motivated individual able to work independently
