    About the position

     

    The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for managing and selling to a territory of UK and Ireland based technology vendor accounts within IDC’s Emerging Vendor team. Emerging Vendors are defined as new and emerging technology accounts with a turnover of $500m in revenue.   The role requires a proven acumen for selling a wide portfolio of technology research, business consulting, marketing services and event sponsorships, to senior level functions within these accounts.

    Responsibilities

    • Business development within the defined territorty selling across IDC’s products and services
    • Account Management of existing and new clients within the territory.
    • Plan and execution of a sales strategy to develop relationships and build account plans to identify and drive new business opportunities
    • Meet all annual and quarterly sales targets and incentives set
    • Achieve goals with positive collaboration with all IDC business units comprising Research, Consulting and Go to Market Services and Events
    • Undertake regular business reviews with management to evaluate performance and client growth opportunities

    Qualifications

    • This assignment will suit an experienced Business Developer, who is experienced in selling and managing mid-sized emerging technology vendors or similar
    • Proven new Business skills to uncover customer decision criteria and recognize how to approach the sale from the customer viewpoint
    • Ability to call high into an organization to discuss business requirements and outcomes
    • An understanding of Market Research/Advisory services and the role it plays within vendor organizations is preferred
    • Capability to frame integrated solutions to senior level clients/prospects and conversant with the “language” of senior decision makers professionals
    • Ability in translating business objectives into solution frameworks and compelling proposals
    • Disciplined and self-motivated to develop and implement a sales plan
    • Collaborative team player
    • 8+ years Sales experience
