Responsibilities

To carry out business development and research work on the China phone Tracker and to support the growth of IDC's research in China. The role will include responsibility in developing relationship with vendors to drive Phone tracker  conversation and performing quantitative and qualitative market analysis, writing reports, and interaction with vendors and channel partners to collect market data.

Analysis and Research: 

  • Analysis and report writing associated with the research program
  • Primary, independent research inclusive of data gathering, interviewing, data processing, analysis, and report generation
  • Report writing and presentation of findings to IDC clients
  • Consulting/custom research projects regionally 
  • Final presentations and wrap-ups with clients
  • Keeping current with industry trends and new research
  • Insuring quality and timeliness of IDC research deliverables
  • Vetting research methodologies and instruments
  • Special reports

 

Consulting Projects:  

  • Collaboration with Consulting on specific projects regionally and globally
  • Final presentations and wrap-ups with clients
  • Keeping current with industry trends and new research
  • Insuring quality and timeliness of IDC custom research deliverables
  • Vetting research methodologies and instruments
  • Special reports

 

Business Development:

  • Proactive prospect development including lead generation, project definition and pricing Proposal development, generation and presentation
  • Participation and assistance in IDC Asia Pacific sales presentations
  • Addressing media inquiries and interviews

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ICT markets is a benefit
  • Preferably intermediate PowerPoint skills 
  • Preferably intermediate presentation skills 
  • Must have intermediate Excel skills 
  • Must have strong writing skills in English 
  • Must be able to provide intelligent analysis 
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong desk research skills 
  • Preferably intermediate Word skills 
  • Strong communication skills (able to demonstrate persuasiveness and candour)
