About the position

IDC is looking for a dynamic, customer and business-minded individual to support and directly contribute to the continued development and success of its large Tracker and Data Products portfolio and business in the region and globally.


Based in the UK and part of the product team, the role will involve working closely with account managers and research teams across the EMEA region to support client proposals, renewals and new business in the region and across our 40+ product portfolio. Responsibilities will include providing sales support, proposal creation, pricing quotation, contract set up, client delivery and training and marketing collateral production or update.


The role will require strong communication, analytical and business management skills, and to develop a strong understanding of IDC research portfolio, product segmentations available across the different markets and dedication to provide effective support to sales and customers and support client renewals and new business across the region.

  • Sales & Business Development Support – Liaison with Sales, Research teams, and Customers
    • Dedicated point of contact for some accounts and/or account managers across the region
    • Provide sales support – program collateral, product demos etc.
    • Provide sales quotations and proposals
    • Support renewals and identify upsell opportunities
    • Support and participate in client calls and meetings
  • Contract Management & Operations - Liaison with Sales, Research and Production teams
    • Client contract set up and management – liaise with sales and relevant research lead involved to review contract scopes, finalize client profile and contract set up, usage of IDC proprietary CRM and related tools
    • Manage Client subscription profile and Query Tool set up
    • Direct involvement when relevant in client delivery and data set preparation
    • Client Query Tool training – direct customer interaction/liaison
  • Product Marketing Support – Liaison with Research teams, Sales and Marketing
    • Support and/or drive marketing materials creation and/or updates
    • Manage internal SharePoint sites and other internal communication
    • Work within BD team on booking reports, gap analysis reports, client activity reports
    • Support creation of Prospects lists, targeted campaigns, direct marketing/social media


The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business management, international business, economics or science, and a minimum of 2 years of Account, Product or Business Management experience. He/she will possess excellent communication, customer relationship and business management skills and will be eager to support and directly contribute to the continuing expansion of our client base and business across the region. Information Technology related knowledge is not required, but an advantage.

As such, the candidate will have:

  • Prior experience in account or product management, with financial responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work across multiple disciplines and teams, and interact directly with sales and clients
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship skills
  • Financial and numeric skills – to understand data, pricing and financial reporting
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail at all levels of the role
  • Technology markets understanding and/or knowledge an advantage; ability to develop strong understanding of customer and competitive strategies
  • Responsiveness, ability to work against tight deadlines, openness and flexibility
  • Marketing minded and Social Media fluency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suites – Excel, PowerPoint and ability to use proprietary tools
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English, additional European languages a plus

Based in London, the role may involve some foreign travel, primarily in Europe or in the U.S.


The role will report to the EMEA BD team and work closely with the WW BD and production teams.
